Okay so you’ve come to Phuket for a holiday, but we want to take you out of here! Time to get off the well beaten tourist path and experience breathaking rural scenery on the Simba Jungle trip to the stunning Khao Sok National Park including the epic Cheowlan Lake.
We are the first to offer guests a full day trip from Phuket to Cheowlan lake, in the heart of Khaosok National Park.
You will see when you cross the Sarasin Bridge off Phuket Island that the roads are quiet, there are few tourists, the scenery is beautiful, mountains are full of lush, green forest and the air is fresh. What are you waiting for?!
It is a long day but the Lake and surrounds are worth it! We break the trip up with activities / stops on both the journey to the lake and the return to Phuket.
Please note a transfer surcharge may apply (usually 1,000 baht for pick-up & return) if your location is off the van route. The surcharge will apply to areas such as Cape Panwa, Siray Bay, Ao Po and Yamu.
Wat Suwan Kuha - Cave Temple
We cross the Seresin Bridge into Phang Nga Province, the mainland province adjoining Phuket. Here we journey to our first stop, Wat Suwan Kuha. This is an immense natural limestone cave, created by nature but exalted by humans. It contains an impressive reclining Buddha. There are hundreds of wild monkeys living in the mountains around the cave, if you are looking for a monkey experience, this is it! We will stop here to take some photos, stretch our legs and you have the chance to purchase freshly brewed coffee from local vendors.
Wat Bang Riang
As we travel further into the jungle, the air becomes fresh and we are surrounded by greenery. We visit the visually stunning Bang Rian Temple, high up in the mountains. A true oasis, this peaceful temple is very pleasing to the eye. A lofty white Pagoda outside, with colourful rooms inside depicting Buddha's story in art. The views from the Pagoda area are breathtaking. Many weekend Thai visitors will come to Bang Rian Temple, but being isolated from main tourist spots it is not generally visited by westerners. We will find a quiet spot here for breakfast and relax.
The highlight of the trip - the unforgettable Cheowlan Lake. The unique nature of the lake captures the imagination. Limestone rocks protrude right from the water, hear the gibbons songs from the jungle covered shoreline; and the water in the lake is clear and warm. We will journey around the lake on a local longtail boat, take pictures and just absorb the majestic nature.
Luxury Floating Restaurant
No trip to Cheowlan Lake is complete without dining in a floating restaurant. We take you to the luxury, floating "small resort" - 'Panvaree The Greenery.' Enjoy a delicious Thai lunch in this unique location.
Relax after lunch at Panvaree The Greenery
After lunch enjoy leisure time at the floating resort - Swimming, Kayaking around the lake or just chilling out.
